Official IFESS / INS Journal - Neuromodulation

Neuromodulation is the official journal of both the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) and of the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society (IFESS).  Neuromodulation disseminates scientific and clinical information relevant to the field of neuromodulation. The journal's sole purpose is to advance the basic and clinical science of the field of neuromodulation.

Neuromodulation publishes original, scientific works, scientific reviews, abstracts of papers accepted for review at national and international congresses, and past and future news of events and activities of the society and its membership. Because the science of neuromodulation transcends many disciplines such as anesthesiology, angiology, cardiology, neurology, neuroscience, rehabilitation medicine, and vascular surgery, the information presented varies widely.

Indexing and Abstracting:
Neuromodulation is covered by SciSearch, ISI Alerting Services, and Neuroscience Citation Index; and it will be re-reviewed for inclusion in Index Medicus in late 2007.

The journal is published four times a year and broken into two sections - one dedicated to articles traditional to INS (pain modulation basic and clinical research) and the other to FES.  The journal is offered to members of both INS and IFESS societies at the same rate of $100 worldwide.  Please visit the Blackwell Synergy site for more detailed information.  You may also request a subscription to the journal through the Feedback Link for Membership Registration.

Blackwell Publishing reported that in two recent surveys, Neuromodulation ranked  number 47 of 75 medicine, research, and experimental journals, and number 72 of 136 Clinical Neurology journals.  Neuromodulation’s impact factor for 2001 was 1.096; and its immediacy Index rating was 0.292; however as the readership grows and more authors begin citing the journal in their publications, the ratings will continue to improve.

A combined paper and online subscription is offered to members of both the International Neuromodulation Society and International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society at the same rate of $100 worldwide, which is a considerable savings from the non-member rate.  Members are able to download PDF and HTML versions of the journal and conduct comprehensive searches on Blackwell Publishing’s Synergy Web site.  Please visit the Blackwell Synergy site for more detailed information. You may also request a subscription to the journal through the Feedback Link for Membership Registration.

IFESS Annual Conference DVDROM

The IFESS Annual Conference DVDROM contains the Proceedings of the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society's first TEN Annual Conferences as well as the Proceedings of the 1998 6th,  2001 7th and 2004 8th Vienna International Workshops on Functional Electrostimulation, and now the abstracts from the 7th Meeting of the International Neuromodulation Society and 14th Meeting of the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery.  Also included here are full paper versions of many of the abstracts presented at the joint meeting of the International Neuromodulation Society and the International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society held in Luzern, Switzerland, in 1998 (these full papers are not available in the original proceedings of that meeting).  Individual papers are downloadable at this site at no cost but are much more convenient to review with the DVDROM.

The DVDROM was developed to disseminate scientific research findings in the field of electrical stimulation to as broad an audience as possible and to make available the collective works of our Society since the formation of  IFESS in a simple and easily obtainable format.  We hope that you find the information contained herein useful and easily accessible.

The DVDROM sells for the extremely low price of only $40 plus shipping.  For volume purchasing, please contact the Editor, Paul Meadows.
